Communist Heritage Tour- Buzludzha and The Might of the East Block Aviation

I cannot recommend this tour enough. We had a scheduling conflict as the agency was fully booked, but they went above and beyond to make sure we didn't miss Plovdiv. Our guide, Josif Barsanov, was absolutely incredible. Even though it was his day off, he stepped in to take us. His English is excellent, and he is deeply knowledgeable and attentive.

It was amazing! Really really loved the guide. He was so knowledgeable not just with the Thracian king but where the Thracian period is in relation to the Roman and Greek periods etc. He was patient in re-explaining some of the bits ensuring we grasped everything. There's a lot of information to absorb but he made it so easy to follow!

We then went through Bultrips directly to book a private tour to Plovdiv. The second trip was with Lubo. He managed to show all the history of Plovdiv in a limited time. Seeing the mosaic museum and all the unexpected ruins the city has to offer. We were so happy to have arranged the second tour with Bultrips.

The tour company is run by historians and archaeologists who are passionate about sharing Bulgaria's history and certainly provided a top notch experience for me. My guide, Krasi, was very knowledgeable and easy going, provided a smooth ride with superb air conditioning, had cold drinks available.

Great experience with a friendly, knowledgeable guide (Tuni), small group (6 guests), comfortable transportation and convenient hotel pickup/drop off. Tuni ensured we had a hassle-free experience at the border crossing and comfort stops along the way to/from.

This was a terrific tour; the tour guide, Ivan, was stellar: very knowledgeable, articulate and provided many anecdotes and facts which made the narrative about the Thracians and their relevance to Bulgaria's history very interesting and compelling.

Fabulous day trip from Sofia — scenic vistas of the countryside, beautiful cascading waterfalls, stunning caves, a historic fortress, a walk across the only remaining covered bridge in the Balkans, and free time for lunch in a local restaurant.

The day started off with a hotel pick up. The tour was intimate with 5 people. Theodore was extremely informative. Full day experience. You cannot come to Bulgaria and not visit Plovdiv! Highly recommend this tour.

Had an awesome time with Joan of Bultrips! He's very nice and told us a lot of interesting trivia on the places we visited, which definitely upgraded the experience compared to doing it by ourselves.

Amazing 6 day tour around Bulgaria with Ivo as our guide. He was extremely knowledgeable, reliable and open to any change we had to make. He recommended us the best local places to eat and visit.

Daniella was a fantastic guide! She was full of enthusiasm, she got to know everybody in the group, she shared so much information about the traditional practices and food habits for Bulgarian.

This was my second tour with BulTrips. It turned out to be a very reliable company. The groups were quite small (2 and 3 people respectively, including me) and the experience felt personal.

The driver (Kiko) was friendly, hospitable, welcoming, engaging, and always professional. The guides were friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable about the history and culture.

All around very impressed with the scheduling, coordination and communication of my tour. I had to cancel and rebook several weeks later — BulTrips was super easy to deal with.

About 1000 miles in total on the Bultrips owned machines. Every site visit and hotel was organised in advance. The hotels were all very acceptable and included in the price.

Both the monastery and church were amazing! Our guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating. He gave us enough time to see everything we wanted. It was well worth it!
